Research Information
"In September 2004, the members of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) published a joint editorial aimed at promoting registration of all clinical trials. We stated that we will consider a trial for publication only if it has been registered before the enrolment of the first patient. This policy applies to trials that start recruiting on or after July 1, 2005. Because many ongoing trials were not registered at inception, we will consider for publication ongoing trials that are registered before September 13, 2005."Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
The new national code advocates and describes best practice in Research. Developed jointly by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), the Australian Research Council (ARC) and Universities Australia, the Code has broad relevance across all research disciplines. The Code guides institutions and researchers in responsible research practices and promotes integrity in research. It sets a framework for how research organisations need to handle breaches of the Code and allegations of research misconduct.
